Here are some common questions we get about Bird’s Nest Baby! Please reach out to us with any questions or comments you have, we love hearing from you!


Q: I’ve never heard of TENCEL™ Lyocell, is it actually soft?

A: 10000% yes! I understand being skeptical of new things, especially when they’re for your little one! But new things are often SO worthwhile. I honestly think they’re softer than most bamboo my baby has. Buttery soft to the max! 


Q: Have you actually compared your product to “bamboo” baby clothes?

A: I have! I purchased pieces from leading and smaller brands to compare quality, sizing, softness, stretch, breathability, look and overall comfort. I was honestly nervous my dream creation wouldn’t hold up to the competition, but they were better than I ever could’ve imagined. 


Q: How does sizing run?

A: Zippys are on the larger size! They’re what other companies say are true to size WITH room to grow (RTG). Our lounge sets are more true to size, still allowing room to grow with fold over feets & a fold over waist. Our fit is designed for longevity, so we recommend sticking with your babes true size if you want them to wear your new items ASAP )and I mean who wouldn’t want that) or sizing down for a more true to size fit. All sizing is flexible though, they’ll fit your little one for a long time, and your next babe or whoever you pass them along to. 


Q: Do your items meet CPSC guidelines?

A: They do indeed! Our garments are tested to meet CPSC guidelines for non tight fitting sleepwear. What that means is there is flammability testing done in addition to the tight fitting tests! Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve labeled these styles with snug fit warning, for an extra layer of protection. The tight fitting measurements given by the CPSC are typically smaller than most consumers want, which is why we opted for more flexible sizing and more testing!

Q: Is Bird’s Nest Baby a real company?

A: Yes! We are an LLC in California. 


Q: It’s hot out, are your clothes suitable?

A: In most cases, yes! Without knowing the specifics of your situation I can’t make a guarantee. TENCEL™ Lyocell is known for its breathability and absorption. It is thin enough for hot days and substantial enough for the cold! Every child is different, please monitor them to ensure overheating does not occur in any situation  


Q: Do you have resources to back up your claims about viscose made from bamboo aka bamboo rayon?

A: Of course! No fear mongering or misinformation here. This is our entry on the detriments of the material, all of our sources are linked in the article. 


Q: Where is Bird’s Nest Baby made?

A: Bird’s Nest Baby is designed in Los Angeles by our wonderful founder Elsa(I am based though since I am her) and ethically produced in China. 


Q: Why might there be some variation from garment to garment?

A: Simply put, our clothes are all made by humans! There is a slight seam allowance because we are not machines. This does not take away from your garment in any way. 


Q: How long until I get my order?

A: For ready to ship items: processing time is 1-3 business days. I always aim for same day, I quote more just incase. For preorders, they will go out as soon as they arrive to me, please allow for standard processing time after their arrival. Standard shipping is 2-8 business days. Once your items leave our hands, they’re out of our control, that’s why we offer Route shipping protection. If you remove this from your order, we aren’t liable for packages that are lost.
